My only challenge this year is incorporating at least one sci-fi book into my monthly reading.

I started the year reading Ali Abdaal’s book on Feel-Good Productivity. It was very insightful and gave me many actionable takeaways. It was the best book I read this month.

I remember watching The Joy Luck Club trailer back in the 90s and quickly dismissing it because it seemed unrelatable. Last year, I decided to add this book to my to-read list after it appeared in my social feeds because of the movie’s anniversary. The stories of the four women and their daughters were beautiful and moving. There is a universality for most parents who want the best for their children.

I’m learning that time and experience have given me an appreciation for stories I once would not have considered reading.
